Physical Properties

Solubility

Azodicarbonamide dissolves in alkalis but is insoluble in gasoline, alcohol, benzene, pyridine, and water. Some reports suggest it is soluble in acids, alkalis, and organic solvents with relatively good solubility.

Stability

It is stable at room temperature but decomposes easily at 120°C, releasing a large volume of nitrogen gas. In sealed containers, this can lead to explosion hazards.
